This weathervane sits untop of of one of the buildings at Defries garden. It was a partially sunny day when I took this, and I waited for the sky to be all one color before taking the shot.

I was using the 70-200mm when i took this one.

Thanks for your comments, and happy Manic Monday to you all!

I believe you are serious that your sky was white in an orderly and uniform manner ... LOL

Even as a partial silhouette, this is nicely presented, Sandi. I now know where West is.

Sandi - A good capture of the vane - waiting for the uniform color of the sky helped with the contrast. Nice work with the 70-200.

At first glance it looks like a charcoal drawing. Good capture Sandi. A colored sky would have given this more depth.

Has the resemblance of a 'High Key' capture, Sandi. Think the WB-setting was on 'cloudy', lol.
Surprisingly approach of the subject matter. Well done again, my friend.

Need to allow for the crosswind Tigz. A good find and a good shot.

I agree about the high-key lighting - a technique used in many films I see in class - excellent detail against that type of lighting.
