Yesterday I had a fun senior picture photo shoot with this young lady. I have done a few B&W's from this session.

This is my entry for the B&W challenge this week.

For the curious minds I used the Nikon D750 with the Nikkor 24-120mm lens late afternoon.

Tori is the young lady, and Pat is her cat. I called kitty, kitty to get his attention. :)

Thanks in advance for your comments.

You nailed this one !. I like that the cat looks ready to jump - no namby-pamby quiet creature this one - it has character and looks very interested in the photographer ! The eyes !
Superb B&W tones. I am sure Tori is delighted with this portrait (assuming Tori is the young lady and Pat is the Cat)

On the list for the BWC - thanks Sandi

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

An excellent portrait shot for a couple more reasons: It's not a glamour shot, but rather shows her real personality, and it's lightly backlit with her face fully illuminated, not uber dark in shadows. That's something that many photographs screw up. Good job. I'm sure she was happy with your work. My only suggestion for this one would have been to crop it just a little on the right, to place her closer to the middle of the photo (although that might actually make that tree trunk altogether too skinny, and look odd--many times cropping comes down to trial and error and the photographer's judgement call... for all I know you may likely have already tried that:o)

Happy Trails

See by the look in its eyes that Pat wasn't used to play the role of an actress in a photo shoot, Sandi, ☺ . Think however that Tori makes Pat quickly feel at ease.
A lovely shot however, and a very apt entry for the Wednesday B&W challenge, my friend!

Glad you got Pat's attention to see its eyes Sandi otherwise it would have been a silhouette of a cat. That is an extremely black cat and that makes it a fabulous image for October. Great job catching the back-light to make Tori's hair glow.

Great capture Sandi. Also your gearset is very good. What interesting to me is, Tori means "bird" in japanese, so she should be careful with the cat Pat :)
