Butterfly Exhibit #7

Earlier in the year I had posted some shots I took at the yearly butterfly exhibit. I came across this one, and after editing it thought I would share it.

This is a Blue Morpho Butterfly, their wings are brown on the underside, but an iridescent blue on the top side.

I would have preferred to have it placed a little more to the right, for composition, but I cropped some distracting elements out of the image.

I used a free trial of On One Raw 2018 software to edit this one.

Thank you for commenting.

An unusual one, but a beautiful capture of it.

You might have been able to crop a wee bit off the right side to center this amazing b'fly but I think it looks just dandy as it is. In fact, I'm planning to vote it into first place in the current "Photos I Wish I'd Taken So Badly I'm Literally Green" contest. Dazzling color on the b'fly and the surrounding rocks(?) are quite beautiful. Are those tiny holes in the rock to the right of the b'fly or water drops? S&F.

Great capture of this Blue Morpho, Sandi.
I've recently captured some in a butterfly garden in my area. My goal was to capture their blue top side. The result was somewhat disappointing because they remained too far from me.
I'm therefore doubting whether I will submit the result. So one has to do it with your capture. Think however, because of its beauty, that this isn't any problem, ☺ .

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

WELL Hot Damn Tigs...look at you go! fine work here. color and texture perfect for my taste. is that water? how cool! and all the bubbles with it?
since that effect with the water is there...maybe a little more depth? just a thought, then again it could take away from the subject, that being the insect. interesting shot! im not sure how i would of handle that one. couple different ways but this way? truly amazing!
