Sandi, you will never know how deeply ingrained this bridge is in my psyche. Some of the most powerful meaningful moments of my life were driving up to the U.P and waiting to see the bridge in the distance. The majesty of this structure as a child left an indelible mark on me to this day. My mother was petrified of the bridge and would take the ferry or have someone from the port authority drive her over.
