If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins!

I guess I never really looked at the structure of an orchid before; it rather reminds me a the propeller of a large ship. I do appreciate the level of detail you have here, Sandi. The neutral background makes the flower pop a bit. The photo appears to have been taken either indoors or under an overcast sky. My only suggestion would be to do what I started doing a dozen or more years ago; taking a small wide-angle flood flashlight along in my camera bag (a wide-angle or LED with not normally show the concentric rings of the lens). In a situation like this I would have then put a little direct light on the subject, and then it would pop exponentially more. Just a thought.
