The monarchs you see now are getting ready to head to warmer climate. I'm happy to report that I have seen alot of the late stage monarchs. I will miss them for sure, and can only hope their journey is safe. I find it truly amazing that such small creatures as this, and the hummingbird's make such a long trek! Just another one of the lord's amazing creations. It puts me in awe! :)

Thanks for your comments.

Beautiful capture, it is sad to see them go, we have seen a lot more of them this year.

It is that time of the year for the monarchs - you have captured a wonderful image of the monarch fueling up for his journey Tigs - I hope they were plentiful this year as I hardly saw any in my area.

I saw some this year but not as many as last year. A wonderful shot Sandi.

I love the lightness in the color tones. A perfect contrast to the monarch.

Sandi, I think this Monarch is busy to fly to Mexico well prepared. The nectar of the Budleija aka 'Butterfly Bush' is an excellent aid to survive such an arduous journey.
A great 'action shot' ( 😁 ) again, my friend, so S+F immediately. Thanks for sharing this beautiful photograph, 👍 !

If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins! Please CLICK HERE to see my journal! Feel free to save my images or to add them to your favorites.

This so well composed and captured, Sandi, that it could be published in pretty much any magazine today. Regardless of professional photographers on their staff, of long experience, and having published many photos myself over 40 years, I can safely claim that many of those pros could not shoot a scene to rival this. Close, perhaps, but no cookie.
