That's the common name for the Echinacea seen here - they are abloom everywhere right now along with all the other coneflowers so common here in the Midwest.

In my country (and possibly in other countries as well) Echinacea aren't only well known by their beauty, but because they are used for medical purposes as well, Kathy.

The grandest of all the aster's IMO. As Corngrowth mentioned Echinacea has some good medicinal properties.

Great capture of the famous flowers. They grow right behind my house on the trail but we have weeds growing around it as well. So capturing these beauties can be a challenge.
