Taken this morning as the sunlight hit one of my oldest antique pieces. A Japanese pitcher decorated entirely by hand. All the repeating turquoise dots are beads of paint and the repeating flowers and scrolls all done by a very talented porcelain artist. This piece dates to about 1860-1875. This is about 9" tall and is in a mirrored curio cabinet near the front windows.

Maybe our next contest should be something from inside the house Kathy. This would be a good candidate.
Wonderful shot.

Kathy, on one of our TV-channels one can watch the program Between Kunst & Kitsch. People can have old or potentially valuable objects valued by experts, who can tell whether they are art or kitsch. The program is in the format of the BBC program Antiques Roadshow.

I'm quite sure that your antique Japanese Pitcher would be categorized there as an extraordinary piece of art with a very high value.

Really a masterpiece.

Take care, stay safe and healthy in these worrying times!
