These are like the ones we see in the early spring outdoors but grown in the greenhouse to use indoors. Lyn says in NZ they call them Christmas rose - here since we see them blooming outdoors in late February and March they call them Lenten rose. This is my foofy for this Friday.

Kathy, I wonder if the name Lenten rose was derived from the Dutch word 'Lente' ('Lente' when translated into English is 'Spring'), especially since the Hellebore blooms outdoors in the early spring, but I couldn't find any proof of that. However, I was able to find these details about this special flower.
A beautiful Foofy Friday (²) contribution anyhow!

I like this very, very much... the softness and overall sense of beauty one feels in viewing this is so very calming with a true appreciation for nature and the photographer.
