"Where there is perhaps a province in which the photograph can tell us nothing more than what we see with our own eyes, there is another in which it proves to us how little our eyes permit us to see." ~Dorothea Lange

The color contrasts work very well in this photo. The light branches in front of the dark tree trunks, with the snow on the ground makes for a great photo.
~ This is wonderful! I love it because it has so many elements to enjoy...the delicate almost lacy branches, the dappled sunlight on the snow, then we're drawn deeper into the dark trunks of trees to glimpse the misty background ones. Superb work Hilda, love it!
:)
Very pretty, Hilda. The feathery white branches in front of the army of dark, tall trees and the snowy ground make this a very lovely winter scene. I like the way you composed this and I like that there are so many trees in the image. The framing really compliments this well.
That's the kind of image that I really love. I love the contrast of the grey branches on the dark trees, the rays of light and the little spash of warm colours. It's a wonderful composition Hilda. :)
It's interesting Hilda because the leaves didn't catch my eye at first, it was the chunky silhouettes of those trees matched with the very bold frame. That's not a criticism though, you kind of got two images in one!
