The wonder of fall! "Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns." ~George Eliot I used a little Orton to soften the shot and deepen the colors a bit.

Wonderful shot, Hilda. I have a picture of one of my daughters at age two, delightfully playing in a pile of fall leaves and I cherish that moment. This reminds me of that image. Looks like a warm day and the shot has lots of warmth from the leaves and the blue outfit and blonde hair. It must be the textures, crunch and availablity of so many wonderful dry leaves to play in that causes children to be fascinated with them.
I love the effect used here. Is it a softening or a tad of Ortonization? Either way, you made wonderful use of it. Such a great image of your granddaughter?

You softened the shot and deepened the colors quite well, but you forgot to mention the genius in composition, by including that adorable child. Great shot Hilda ... Wonderful message.

Beautifully shot, Hilda. The ortonization was the perfect touch to soften the surroundings. I've got to go out and rake the million leaves in the yard, but I'll take this precious pic with me in my mind and refer to it when I begin to resent the chore!

I love this picture. Fall is my favorite season, and this captures much of the wonder and beauty of it through a child's eyes. Right into my favorites.

P.S. If you have a chance, I'd love for you to take a look at my gallery. Any comments, advice, criticisms, or snide remarks would be welcome. Have an awesome day!

Fabulous, fabulous work -- spun me around on my chair when it opened in the voting booth. (VB needs thicker carpeting to absorb the impact of rare images like this one, btw, Caedes.) Of all the fine qualities that make this a stand-out shot, the composition is the one that impresses me the most. Outstanding.

Great stuff Hilda, the shock of the blue against the warm colours makes this very stylish, and the direction the baby's outstretched arms and turned head make a strong composition. Deserves to do well and it has a C-index of 82 right now, nice to see the voters have recognised a fine shot. Faved.
