Hi Mick,
a bit late, but still nice to read your subscription to Hug a High.
We have them here in a state park near my home. Most people never come anywhere near them, but I you go slow and show them your respect they are willing to accept your presence. When I shot this photo the sun was just performing it's final act. The light was just perfect and the whole setting with me in the middle of that herd of highlanders was very serene. Can you believe that my dog was standing just beside me? He is a cairn terrier, and bears some similarities in fur coat to that youngster on the photo. Maybe he was accepted as some soulmate...

Hi Mick...I thought I welcomed you to caedes before but don't see it here so welcome to caedes and thanks a lot for your great complimentary feedback on Broken Glass and my other works...very glad you enjoyed it and others and your time and visit is much appreciated.:Pat.
Hi, thanks for your nice comments for " First Winter Snow " they are much appreciated. I saw all the people stranded down there on the news, that was really bad you got a lot more snow then we in Yorkshire did.
Hello Mick, I just discovered your images. They are all pearls of pure beauty, especially the landscapes, animals and still lives (that's almost everything;-) ) Absolutely breathtaking. Please send us more!
Hey MIck...thanks so much for the great feedback on Forest Green for fotobob...very glad you liked it and I appreciate the visit...Happy New Year.:Pat.
Christmas is just plain weird.
What other time of the year do you sit in front of a dead tree in your living room eating candy and snacks out of your socks?
Michael who!....I thought your name was Mick !!
humble thanks for your input Mick....I always take heed of yours words
Thanks for comments to Valley Mist....I think the 'Toon Army' were playing in this !!!!
Best wishes for 2006.............Bob

Thank you for your positve feedback on "mysterous pond-revised". Glad you found it so appealing and rewarded it with a ten. Great honour for me. Stay tuned.

Hi Mick...thanks a bunch for stopping to have a look at Bunker Shot...it's been awhile since that one received any attention...very glad you liked it and I appreciate the visit.:Pat.
Hi Mick...thanks for your kind words to 'Colliery Sundown'...yes it is a sad reflection of the way the government can dictate which ( I will say 'Industry') to close for lack of money!...I was made reduntant from the steel industry with British Steel....look at the steel industry now....there are one or two in this country...but most is imported from the far east!...I was very lucky in that I got another job right away, 'Long distance trucking' with a local factory!
I agree with you in respect that are a great number of 'Photogenic' mine museums to capture on an image!...........Many thanks and kindest regards for your views....Cheers for now........Bob
Hi Mick,
I'm really glad you like my old house (not really my house, just the pic), every time I passed by on my way to the park, I was thinking I should make this picture, and I finally did. Thank you for stopping by, and for the nice comment.
Hi Mick, A big thanks for the great coment on 'Cancun Sunrise' I was getting up early to try and get a decent shot but the first few days were all a bit gloomy then on the fourth or fifth day the sky looked great.
Cheers Ian :o)
Thank you for your thoughts on "The Sole Survivors", I appreciate you stopping to comment on it. I tried hard to add some flavor to the pile of trees, too bad they didn't give me much to work with! I have some other picture of the same pile I need to get around to editing. Thanks again!
Hey Mick...thanks so much for your positive comments on Inner Glow...glad it caught your eye...it's not my usual thing but every once in awhile I like to try something different...I appreciate the kind feedback and visit.:Pat.
thank you so much for leaving a cooment on "Red'nRusty", much appreciated. I always find those old and retired machines kind of intriguing and take some photos of them, I'm glad you liked it.
Thanks mate for stopping by my Winter image Old Bonhomme Winter. We have yet to get any real snow this year.We had a couple dustings but it was gone before I could get off of work or get a day off to shoot. The temperature has been mild so far but in St.Louis we never know what we are in for in the way of weather. When those Alberta clippers roll down from Canada and Siberia we get some intense cold weather. We are also influenced bt the warm Gulf of Mexico air.Whos knows. What I do know is gas company and the Middle East won't get as much of my money this year and that ain't bad.Enjoy your retirement.I'm about 10 or 12 years from joining you god willing.
Peace&Respect Jojo
hello Mick, thanks for the great comments on Viaduc de Millau. By the way, I didn't take the photograph, but your comments are helpful to me nevertheless :) thanks
Thank you so much for taking the time to view "Fish in snow?" Just a quirky idea I came up with one afternoon while bored out of my gourd (can't you tell?) Thanks again for the comment- very much appreciated.... All the best to you and yours......... Eileen
Hi there Mick...thanks so much for the positive feedback on Field of Snow...glad it appealed...unfortunately, or fortunately, however you like to see it, we have hardly any snow here this year so haven't been getting any new ones recently...I appreciate your compliments and visit to this one.:Pat.
Hi Mick, nice to meet you, and many thanks I offer you for your huge vote of confidence! Your kind words are much appreciated and I am glad you liked "On the Eve of Love"! I love roses, as if you do not already know, you soon will! I am fascinated by them and I think they photograph so well! They have an abundance of color and natural beauty! Please stop in again, I would enjoy that! Sincerely, Marilyn
Hi mate...thanks for your kind words...Would believe...my wifes plants are the same as yours!!!....must be the climate eh!....My good lady tries her hardest to be a horticultarist !!..at least that what she thinks it is....I say it is pure dumb luck!
Best Regards Mick........Bob
Thanks for the nice comment on Bend in the River - Redone.... Glad you enjoyed it.. I am trapped in the house, so I spend my time playing with my photos, to see what I can do..
Hey Michael, me owld son!...sincere thanks for your comments to 'A place to Amble'
this is indeed a lovely place...called 'Wallington Gardens' part of the National Trust, situated just North of Morpeth and Newcastle Airport
Appreciated as always.....Bob
Hi Mick, thanks for your kind comments on Mist Over Windermere. It was a bit of an oppurtunistic capture as two hours before it was thick fog and an hour later it was gorgeous sunshine:)
Thanks so much for the comment on Juicy.. You should have seen the produce managers face, when I rearranged his friut.. He turned a little green when I got out the camera..
Hey Mick - I appreciate the feedback on Fossil Fractal. It's a rather quiet image and I wondered how it would be received here. Nice to hear that you like it. Thanks.
Hi Mick, so very nice of you to stop by and to view "Peacock Tomatoes"! I was just having fun that day and the tomatoes were so fresh and beautiful, I couldn't resist, and out came the camera! I also would like to offer a big warm WELCOME, to Caedes! I hope you enjoy your stay here! There are a lot of very nice people on the site, Mick, have fun! Sincerely, Marilyn
Hi Mick, I am back again and happy to be here! Many thanks to you for viewing "Soft as Silk"! I am very glad you like it! It was a night shot and that is always pretty risky, right! The tendency for cluttering is always there when one has a bouguet to photpgraph, as apposed to a sigle stem! You mention a very good point indeed! I am still a novice but coming along ok! I must admit, I still have much to learn! LOL! Thanks again Mick, Sincerely, Marilyn
Hi Mick, and thanks for your kind comment and suggestion on "Waterworlds". I quite agree about the cropping - using flash at such close range leaves a lens shadow at the bottom of the shot, and although I'd cropped some of it I should have gone tighter, even if it meant ending up with a lower res. My printed version is more tightly cropped!

Hello Mick, many thanks to you for viewing "Flowers in the Snow"! The irony of this image is that the snow is hardly visible! I have been asked a few times, where is the snow? They will just have to take my word for it, right? Just teasing! This photo was one of my very early shots! When I discovered that it wasn't too bad, I forged ahead with great determination, had lot's of fun, and was quite sure this was my much appreciated hobby to be! I would like to take this opportunity to also thank you for your generous description of "Lighthouse", your wonderful image I liked so well! You shared your points of interest regarding the image, and I appreciated your time taken! Thanks again Mick, Sincerely, Marilyn
Thanks for dropping by Thoughts of a Seductress! Glad you liked it, and yea I noticed...the red seems a bit overpowering, there will be a rework soon, maybe it'll fix that :D
Thank you Mick for viewing and giving such nice comments on my Mountain Stream Beauty 2 image. I appreciate your support of my image. This was late afternoon and the low light was drawing me deeper into the forest.
Russ
Thanks for the comment on "Throttle Junkies" much appreciated. I like the pics in your gallery. Are they taken around where you live?. Also, I like your image "Silhouettes". It reminds me of a shot that I had lined up in my camera when I was coming down from Mt Palomar. The problem was I had run out of film, so all I got was a mental picture.
My humble words of appreciation for your generous words on "murky place". So happy to know you really found it so appealing. This is what I like about winter, such places are frozen and you can get there without the rik of getting wet in order to take some photos. Glad you liked the results.
Hi Mick, thanks for the comment on Lands End, I took it last Jan 2005, could not believe the weather that day, we went on to Sennen Cove and had coffee on the beach in T shirts, it was fantastic, if you go to www.marktruman.co.uk you can see some of the other shots I took that day, maybe we should get together and go on a shoot . . . let me know . . . here's my address marktruman@blueyonder.co.uk....see you soon.
Thank you Mick for your kind comments on "Waz Up. I'm pleased you like it.
Light is that magical phenomenon that allows us to enjoy the sights of the physical world. That property grants me the ability to interpret and record the beauties of which are so vital to me: my physical environment. Each of us sees and interprets the world a little differently and I am happy to share my interpretive vision of it with you.

Hello there Mick, mate!...welcome back to sanity! Thanks for your interest in 'Highland Blue'....this is on the borders, very near to 'Newcastleton' about central between Jedburgh and Carlisle....My wife and I drove through Kielder Reservoir! and came a few miles from this mountain.....I had to stop in the middle of the road to catch a shot of this!.
Hope this helps...........Bob
Hey there Mick...how are you?...many thanks for dropping in on Winter Float and leaving such approving comments...very pleased you liked it and your visit, as always, very much appreciated...have a great weekend.:Pat.
Thanks for the nice comment on Summer Tomates... It is much appreciated.. You should have seen me out in the rain.. I got soaked but at least I got some nice photos..
Hi Mick....Thankyou for leaving some much appreciated comments on my "Drag Racing Motorcyclist" image....I don't recognise the name you mention....but there are many motorbike classes and competitors and I only know a few.
Hello Mick. Thank you for those wonderful comments you left at “The Bush Chapel”. That was an extraordinary scene the sun had it lit up like a stage show. I had no choice I simply had to photograph it. Thanks again, I’m glad you like it.
Dear Mick,
Thank you very much for visiting and commenting so kindly my 'warm October'. Tonight I will post another image taken last October - I hate bleak end of winter and autumn is my absolutely favourite time in a year !!! LOL
Thank you for your comments to the Butterfly image Mick. It was quite some time ago, that I took this one....it was taken at a Butterfly Farm. at Durham University
I went there one day, and asked if I could photo some..they told me to come back after the 'tourists' have left. I had the place to my self, apart from the cleaners and carer's and security people.....You have just reminded me to go back there soon!.......cheers for now.....Bob
Kia Ora Mick, I appreciate your nice comments about "Storm Brewing". I wondered if the shot needed brightening a bit but that seemed to take away the ominousness of the scene. Changing brightness and contrast is about all I am capable of :) My camera is a simple point and shoot so its the luck of the draw whether the mood is captured.
Hey Mick, A big thanks for the kind comments on my 'Old Car' image I really appreciate it. I`m not sure if it`s a Morris but in the street they also have like an old camera shop with lots of old cameras in the window so I got a couple of shots of that too I was hoping to post but they have not turned out as I hoped so If I can`t fix them up a bit I will be back over there and will find out. They`ve got some great things there but due to the lighting and layout of the place and all the people it`s hard to any get good shots with my very limited photography skills. I just got a Canon eos 350d and it`s my first SLR and I`m finding it quite a steep learning curve.
Cheers mate.

If my comment on your work ever seems to criticise, it does not. It is always so that we may learn together.
Thanks for stopping by my gallery and commenting on the "Sunning". I have about 900 butterfly pictures in my photo collection so theirs a good chance you see more.
Hello Mick! Thanks you so very much for the really kind comment you left for 'Ye Olde Church', I truly appreciate it and I'm very pleased that you like it!
Thanks again!
