Another Eagle shot I wanted to share. I saw this Blue Jay hopping around while I was trying to get a shot of the Eagle. I only managed to get them both in one shot. I thought it added something to the scene. Not only color, but perspective showing the difference in size between them. I suspect I will never have an opportunity like this again. Enjoy!

The eagle has just eaten and so there is no danger for the blue jay. Good one Tick.

Great snag, Tick! And good observation about the size comparison.

Richie's right, blue jays ARE cheeky! It's highly unlikely, however, that the jay was ever in any true danger from the eagle. I'm sure he was just more of a nuisance or curiosity for the eagle.

What does surprise me (and maybe it's simply of trick of the compressed photographic perspective?), is that the eagle would put himself into a position of such a cramped, confining space among the branches, where he couldn't easily extend his wings and fly out quickly, if need be. That would be very unusual!

You sure got yourself a looker there though! He's a real beauty, Tick. And the brilliant, blue pop of the ballsy jay is a bonus.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust

I opened and enlarged it in Photoshop and it appears the jay really doesn't trust to faith in the eagle... he's keeping an eagle eye on him. And yeah, I don't believe we'll see a combo like this again.
