I tried to find an opportunity to get a shot of the eclipse and found one when a cloud passed over at the right time. This was about 30 mins from totality, but honestly, the coverage was about the same, no dramatic difference from what you see here. I used iPiccy to adjust contrast a bit. Also, for those who don't know where I am, this was in Tampa, Fla. Taken about 14:00 Aug 21st 2017.

A nice arty rendering of the eclipse. I did a similar thing in 2012. It is really difficult to get a dramatic shot of a partial eclipse. That was my case also. I wasn't anywhere near totality. You can see what I did here:

Every image of a solar eclipse I've ever seen, from Monday or any time in the past, the background is always black or a very deep gold, orange, or red. But blue? Very nice and unique, Alex.

Very good capture of this impressing phenomenon, Alex.
Even in the newspapers in my country, much attention was paid to the eclipse. A pity that we couldn't see it in real on the east side of the big pond. You were lucky, and you've used this opportunity very well, my friend.

That you still had blue sky with such clouds is unusual Alex. Good timely capture.

Excellent, sexy shot of the partial eclipse, Alex! The tie-dyed blue surrounding sky is spectacular.

A crescent sun! Good capture Alex. Clouds were too heavy in my area.

It was cloudy here off and on, but I did manage to get out and just enjoy the moment, but no pics. I like the blue in this capture, so different from any other solar captures that I have seen. tigs=^..^=
