It's been a long week and I'm in a bit of a sentimental, contemplative mood. In the future coming up, I may be off Ceades for a little while. I may end up having an operation for a hernia, we'll see. If so, it's pretty routine, and I should be back on my feet very shortly afterwards, but of course there will be post op healing, etc. I know some would say this is TMI! But for those who don't know Caedes, do not realise what a tight nit family we are. Right then. This is a nursery school group photo taken in 1972. I am all the way to the left in the front row. I feel like taking myself, and making me sit up straight. I don't like the slouching. I will strive to keep you updated. P.S FWIW We had a raccoon on our patio last night. He was looking in through the patio door trying to see what treats there may be inside. It's funny, because I've been deep in the swamp eating PB&J sandwiches and never see a raccoon. And the first time I ever seen one down here was a few year ago believe it or not. Where we are now is a little outside of town and there's more wildlife as you can tell from my pictures.

In the first place, I wish you a successful hernia operation and a soon and complete recovery, Alex!
Thanks for this 'nostalgic' and cute capture. You were (and are probably still) a smart boy/man, ☺ .

Not to worry about slouching here Alex...I'm certain I have some old school pics of myself that were none too flattering, lol...one when I was a little kid in about Grade 3 where I looked very bored and half asleep...best wishes for a speedy recovery re: your hernia operation.

Well, Alex, your slouching just shows you were a typical kid. 1972, huh? At the time this was taken I was graduating high school and leaving for Navy boot camp in San Diego. Four years earlier I was graduating in the last eighth grade class at a local Catholic parochial school, and although I wasn't slouching (we were standing), I still was the one student that rather stood out, wearing a camel-colored corduroy jacket over a thin, black, turtle neck sweater. I had a piece of white paper in my pocket and so tore a strip off it, folded it long, and then wrapped it around the front of my turtle neck to see if I could get away with having a Roman collar in the photo. Unfortunately the school priest spotted it before the shutter struck. Class clown, I guess you could say. The clothes and the background in your photo really takes me back. If only I knew then what I know now... I'd have had more kids!
