This is a bull seal, they were huge and pretty grumpy most of the time it seemed! when they were annoyed they lifted themselves up on their front flippers and slapped their bellies on the floor, they made the strangest howling singing noise too!

Interesting image. He kind of reminds me of the alien, ALF, from the old TV sitcom. I am wondering how far away you were from these seals when you photographed them. I think you were fascinated by them and we reap the rewards of your efforts by getting to see them in all these funny poses.
