The red brick Roman walls of Chester, northern England. Chester is one of the few British cities to have its walls intact. Walking the 2 mile distance is a great way to see the city. This is the Water Tower built in 1322 to protect the port.

Terrific shot! I happen to love walls...and stonework...and this one took me by surprise when I looked at full size, coz the depth/height perspective jumped out at me. NICE!

ahhhh I was only walking around these walls just a few weeks ago Lyn, as it is just 45 mins drive away - I have quite a few photographs from Chester! well done on a capturing some of Chester's history! Patti
