Taken yesterday - I really don't know why the bills look blue - they were blueish grey in reality but somehow turned out like this. The mother was sitting, apparently sleeping, on the bank and I was surprised and delighted to see the little ones scramble out from beneath her wings as I disturbed them.If only the ducklings would have kept still I may have got a clearer shot:). .Panasonic DMC-FZ7.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated.

The bills were actually one of the first things I noticed. The slightly fuzzy appearance, to me, actually compliments the image.I like the overall composition here, but would've liked to have seen a little less water. And grass. nice presentation.

This is a rare sight and you were very lucky to catch them like this. They look so cute with their blue beaks.
It is sharp enough, Lyn. You can't expect them to pose for you. Wonderful capture.

Oh My ... the mythical and legendary "Blue Billed Mallard" ... Unconfirmed reports over the years have surfaced every once in a "Blue Moon" baffling ornithologists worldwide ... and LynEve has the only known photograph. This is an image for the National Enquirer or perhaps E-Bay. There's a fortune to be made I should think. This will make UFO's take a backseat in the headlines. As for the photo itself ... How can anyone NOT find those little "fuzz-balls and their proud momma appealing ? Not I ... that's for sure.

Your composition is great, as always, Eve. All the angles are filled with views that invite and interest the viewer...of course the subjects steal the show, but the water and the curve of the grass and the vertical grasses hanging down over on the right are great!!

By the way, what's that in the water over on the extreme left? I though maybe you were trying to sneak in a little bit of Halloween scare, but it must be a rock?

Good Halloween Post. They do have web feet, don't they? Very good photo. Clear and colors are beautiful. I think Patti hit the duck on the bill with the swimming lessons notation. You did good to capture this scene. I really enjoyed it.

Such a neat shot, Eve. I was so pleasantly surprised when I opened it up and saw that it was not the conventional shot in the water. What a brood she has. They look like they are waiting for a water taxi.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . .
