This ford across the Wainakarua River, Otago, NZ was the end of the line for me - I never got to enjoy the delights on the other side after reading the sign which said "Unstable Crossing, cross at your own risk. Read My Lips - there is NO local tow company" I guess I could have waded across but it was a cold day :). .Panasonic DMC-FZ7.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated.

I see tracks of other brave souls. It was a great spot to stop and take photo, so you didn't need to cross. The water does look cold. Bends always makes you want to see more. Did your forefathers send someone to Ohio to name their rivers? Just wondered. I'll give it a go: Wy onna ka rue a. Very nice post Lyn. How many different camera's do you have?

When you said Ford, I thought you meant the car. lol You make me want to know what lies beyond, but I can't blame you for not wading through on a cold day. Interesting setting. No tow companies?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

that's a shame! - but I would not have risked it either Lyn! A lovely composition and love the tall trees separating the image into sections - such a variety of trees too!

I think you made the right decision Eve, but perhaps sometime you can come back in a Hummer or some such and let us see what is around the bend. Lovely shot and begs to be further explored.

You could have waded across but that is not a risk worth taking. Lush green vegetation - raw nature as it was a thousand years ago.

You should have garnered the courage of Mr. Cowardly or Gwen or whatever he's calling himself nowadays and tried it out! Sounds like a lot of rivers around these part..Names are impossible!!
