To all of you who wished me Happy Birthday - a big thank you. I had a super day - this is one of the places I visited. Lake Pukaki in the Mackenzie District of Canterbury, NZ. . .Thanks for viewing, comments are welcome. I took this with the Canon 450D, I have not come to grips with it yet and am having a lot of failures, I may be calling for help.:)

Come, my friends, 'tis not too late to seek a new world. Push off, and sitting well in order smite the sounding furrows; for my purpose holds to sail beyond the sunset, and the baths of all western stars, until I die. Tennyson, "Ulysses"

From the looks of things, you're doing just fine. :o)

I like the depth of the scene here, and the cold ice-blues throughout. Perhaps a tad of oversharpening, noticeable a bit in the foreground. Anytime you'd like feel free to ask for help. I'm sure most members would be as willing as I am to be of assistance.

Happy Birthday again, Lyn. (does this mean I'll see more of Lake Pukaki because I said it again? :P)

Please, even if you don't visit my gallery, check out my "Faves".I've left them intact since day "1", and would like it if every image there got the attention they deserved.

A belated Happy Birthday, Lyn and all the best for the coming year. The almost turquoise water and the active sky make this a beautiful image.

Well, looks like you're having a lot of success with it, too! This is amazing with the water and mountains. And Happy Birthday! It's still your birthday here! You must celebrate one day for each year - and they don't have to be consecutive days. I'm glad you got a good start on that!

Happy Birthday, Lyn . Well this certainly isn't a failure. I love the almost washed out look to the colours.

I know what you mean about stepping up to the new camera. it was all so relatively easy with my Fuji F31 ,I just pointed a clicked and maybe tinkered with the settings a bit but now with the Nikon D60 I have to think so much about each shot!

There's that magical name again, Canterbury! Whenever I am near or in a Canterbury, wonderful vistas unfold. This is so lovely and the colors are wonderful, the whites and the light blue of the sea. A great shot, Eve, and I don't think any of us hasn't had to mount the learning curve involved when first using a DSLR, but I think you're doing just great! Technical questions are always welcomed and if we can't give an answer, we'll help you look for one! :)
