The archaeological site of Mystras, situated on Mt. Taygetos, near ancient Sparta, Greece, has a long history. It happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In one of the many churches we visited there, this window caught my attention and impressed me very much. Thanks for your views and comments, appreciate it.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Simple but very nice - I think the black surrounding it has increased 3D effect of the arch.

This is a superb simplistic image, and like R. said it is thought provoking. You have a keen eye for things that are different, and I say a big bravo to you! tigs=^..^=

Simple, yes, but at the same time it says so much about history, art, culture, architecture, pigments, light, dark, permanence...

Thank you for sharing your part of the world, Vicki, in such an elegant way.

Simple images are often the finest, Vicki. This one is no exception to the rule. It reflects on the one hand the long intriguing history while on the other hand it let room for some cultural interpretation/explanation.
Perfect use of lighting too!

The history of William of Villehardouin and Mystras is very interesting. Years ago I was reading about the monasteries in Greece and for all these centuries, from when they were built, and was amazed at the wealth that was hidden in some of them.

I quite like the simplicity of this...it has a mysterious feel and leads one to wonder what is taking place in there...when viewed full screen, the the old art work and design is quite interesting to see...good luck in the contest, Vicki.
