'I Nearly fell in there' mate! and I had a coffee in me hand too!

Stunning composition and arrangement of the bordering..it's what you call an 'OOB' (Out of Border or Frame)

I noticed a few poppies 'poppin' up over here too!..

Wow! this pops out the screen at you. I had to smile too as I was debating on uploading a poppy today but glad I didnt as yours is more superior. Fantastic presentation of this Oriental Poppy. Well done!

This one "popped" me in the face when it went full screen SEA. Got to say I really like it. I know have an urge for some orange pop.
Going to a baseball (grandson's) tournament in a bit and will be gone the weekend.
Good health to you and yours.

Sensational close up, Cornelius! The detail in the center is fantastic and you bring it right to us. The framing emphasizes the poppies size. Such a neat idea. This would make a great poster or billboard!

Now I know why they call them poppies. They pop right off the screen. I've had my weekly dose of red. Killer shot.

Hi Cornelius, i am reluctant to post this although i know you will want me to but im seeing that same strange blown out effect in the colours of this shot again that we discussed a couple of weeks ago. The contrast seems to be extreme in the top left and is causing a loss of detail in the petals which makes one particular place just a red out (as opposed to a white-out!). However, this is strange because apart from this the image seems well balanced! It is very confusing!

On a different note i love how the flower breaks out of the frame and its a beautiful capture with fantastic clarity in the middle.

---The contrast....is causing a loss of detail in the petals...---

@Rachel (Homtail):
As said in my narrative: it's a macro. Macros have an extremely shallow DOF. Therefore I supposse that you are talking about a by the bokeh created effect. Think that the narrative of this image may clarify where you're talking about in your comment.

Edit:
Rachel wrote me by PM: "Hi Cornelius, I actually didn't realise that macros had a very shallow DOF. They are not my strong point and I'm not very well versed in their challenges.... Thank you for the clarification! I completely understand now that it makes sense and I understand what I'm seeing. Much appreciate the lesson as always..... Everyday is a school day. :)"

You're welcome, Rachel.
