This traditional windmill in the village of Hoedenkenskerke, on the peninsula South-Beveland, Zeeland, The Netherlands, has the name 'Koutermolen', and was built in 1874 and has a wingspan of 26.8 meters (about 87 feet). The small/miniature traditional windmill in front of the bigger one hasn't a name however.

And like most kids, mom looks and heads west, missy goes the opposite direction. Kids. Sheesh.

I like it.

Very good clarity, nice colors and a good composition in this shot Cornelius. I like also the Baby Koutemolen too.

---Can you get into it?..---

Bob, people like me are too tall to get in there. Perhaps you can get in it, because I've seen you even enjoying an outdoors nap on a very, very small bench, ☺ ☺ ☺ !

I don't know if all these old windmills are obsolete C but I imagine they are still useful and can still pump water. Let's hope they won't be needed for that again!

Lol! Mr. C. your title fooled me to what I saw when I opened it. This is so darn cool, and for the records I bet I could get into the small one, I'm the complete opposite of tall. :) tigs=^..^=

The birds must have planted the seeds that gave life to this little windmill, SEA.
Love the angle you chose.

Windmills facinate me. I know wind powers them of course, but the inner working and construction, etc makes me ask lots of questions. Does anyone ever get caunked on the head by the blades? How much flour can it mill, etc? I know, Google it. :)

A super picture of the mother and daughter Cornelius.
Our friends have one about the size of the small one (maybe a little smaller) in their garden. Annemarie, our friend, is originally from the Netherlands and I believe the windmill was brought out from there in more recent times.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
