This is the 6th one of my series 'The Race Is On'. This series shows images taken at the annual 'Van Loon Sailing Event' on the Lake of Veere, Zeeland, The Netherlands, the last time held on July, 2017.
To know more about this event, please check-out the narrative of THIS ONE.
Depicted here are the 'Op Hoop van Zeegen' and the 'D'n Bruinen'.
Some details:
The 'Op Hoop van Zeegen' (hoping for the best) with the designator HD-82 (HD stands for Hindeloopen, a small town in the northern part of The Netherlands), is a reconstructed ancient Dutch wooden fishing boat (built in 1894) used on the former Zuiderzee, now IJsselmeer.
The 'D'n Bruinen' (the brown one) with the designator PI-77 (PI stands for Plilippine, a small town in the south western part of The Netherlands, adjacent to the Belgian border), is also a reconstructed ancient Dutch wooden fishing boat (built in 1880) used in the Zeeland waters.
