A humane and urbane setting which implies culture and hospitality. Looks like terrific streets to wander and photograph.

Whenever the term ^old world architecture^ comes up, what first comes to my mind are these guild structures in the Netherlands. What a great capture, C., the scene itself and the eye necessary to frame it, then shoot it. I had a feeling that the only thing that could keep the indomitable Mr. C down was a health concern of some substantial degree. I was hoping it was not so, that perhaps you had been whisked away to be trained as a secret agent for the Netherlands, or some ravening beauty approached you at the tables in Monaco and you were now living on a yacht in the Med. Unfortunately, that was not the reality. Nearly in my seventies myself, I know too well how our health becomes more of a tightrope as we get longer in the tooth. While you have challenges ahead, C., I do hope you have many more good days than bad, and no fears that we will not cherish every submission and comment of yours, no matter how few or far between. Please do not feel the need to push yourself if you are not up to it. You became a rock here at Caedes, a long time ago, and you will continue to be that, even for those of us who have been here for a decade or longer.

Take care.

Wonderful picture, as always, dear Cornelius. I love the Netherlands, I have visited it only once, but I know that our Caedes friends are envious because of that. :)) I have great memories. I have a few friends there, and I am happy to say, you are one of them. Take care, health is everything, so, please get better, we all miss your great photos. I wish you all the best.

Lovely to see your post Cornelius and I hope to see more when you are feeling able. Health is your first priority and I hope it helps just a little to know we are all thinking of you.
What a wonderful vibrant scene this is - over the centuries folk must have seen so many changes of fashion and activities as they looked from the windows of those buildings.

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
