What a charming post Patti. They are eternal aren't they. But alas, time stands still for no one so we'll have to watch for new buds in the spring. Very nice post with the golden tones as a reminder that autumn is here.
Can't always give individual thanks but I am so appreciative of everyone's comments and input. I truly enjoy seeing all of your posts and am always happy to see you at My Gallery. Thanks, Anita
This is such a nice artistic autumn picture! Beautiful macro and composition, the colours are very good. There's a very good atmosphere in this. You can almost smell the autumn, like when you walk through the woods ;) This goes into my favs :) Good job, Patti!
Wow..this is very nice work Patti! The colors & the warm lighting are just right for fall season. What a nice desktop this will make for this time of year! Great job!!

I love the gold tones as well. Amazing, isn't it? Even through the ravages of time they remain beautiful in their own way. Very nicely composed Patti!..=)
Outstanding, Patti. You nailed the purpose of photography dead on the head. We make time stand still so future generations can see through our eyes. Superb work. Kudos!!!!!

thanks everyone - very kind comments and the flowers and leaves are real - the flower is a fading rose which I had in a vase at the side of the desk and the leaves from my garden.

What a job you did with this. You've taken "faded" flowers ready to be discarded and turned them into a beautiful work of art. The color, lighting and especially your composition on this is fabulous. Great work Patti.
Patti, this is so beautiful. Excellent use of color throughout and your framing is more than perfect for this. I love the golden glow this has about it.
This is an excellent photograph and I love the theme and the narration of the image. The framing and the wooden table enhance the image. Excellent work

I keep coming back to your image here ... I think it's about time I put a few words of appreciation down on it's page ... before I need some kind of mechanical assistance in scrolling down any further. (<--- A little joke :oP ... but, certainly a testament to your images' popularity.)
Very nice. Elegant, seems to be the operative word in my mind as I view this. Touching too, if you take your narrative into consideration.
Great detail and clarity, wonderfully composed. And you have made a convert out of this viewer for utilizing a frame quite effectively.
Caveats? None, really ... but, a suggestion ... a thought. How would you feel about changing the outside matting to black? Not sure how it would affect the overall 'feel' ... but, in my humble opinion ... I am thinking ... sophistication.
That aside ... this really is gorgeous ... and yes, good luck with this most worthy entry. :o)
Yes! Absolutely wonderful : gold,purpure,orange,brown...all autumn colours are here.Excellent idea, nice framing, good shot.Thank you very much for this unique post.

I like your composition in this image. You picked just the right items to include, and you chose the surface well. The wood-grain enhances the autumnal feeling. The blurred green background gives the feeling that spring and its life is receding, as the colors of fall come to the fore. I think the depth of field could be deeper, so we could see more detail in the foreground objects while keeping the background out of focus. Good overall job here.
Congratulations Patti on a job well done! You deserve this time in the spotlight....relish it and enjoy it. Thanks for helping to make this contest a really neat one :=)
