Great view and you said it so well and so succinctly. Looks like a storm could be brewing. Since you were just there, does it fall mainly on the plain. Just wondered. Great post.
Your narrative of this shot is excellent. I can see myself doing all you describe and being lost in the sky, sea, and landscape presented before my eyes. A bottle of wine and quiet company would add to such moment.
My 'puter crashed the other day so I'm trying to get my new one up and running. ;-( This new OS (Vista) is going to take some getting used to. Sorry I haven't been commenting as much as I would like to. ;-)

A dreamscape. The colours of the sky and water are splendid and contrast well with the foreground. I love the beauty and serenety of it. Excellent capture Patti. :)
*You will have noticed that I haven't been commenting as much on your fine images!..This is because of the pains in my hands!..the constant use of the keyboard, makes this difficult..so, my dear friends..I can only apologise to you all in advance!*

Lovely soft image, a nice contrast to the vibrant sunsets you've been posting. There is something silent about it too isn't there? As though those clouds were cotton wool dampening the noise or something.
What a wonderful play of light and clouds you have captured here Patti! I think the metal structure in the lower right could have been tidied away with a deft stroke of the clone stamp, but this is a minor point. It's a great image.
