.....zooming down onto the pretty little village of Castleton from Peveril Castle, you can see the street leading to the main street ....and besides the church which is obvious, I can see three pubs! lol! two on the left side of the road and one at the end! anyone fancy a pub crawl? :) During the week the village is pretty quiet, but at weekend people visit the village and the outstanding surrounding countryside, hence all the traffic. Not all villages are like this, but Castleton does make it's living from tourism and is filled with little gift shops, cafes, pubs and has it's own little museum and of course the castle, if you have the energy to climb the steep incline.

Did you notice the vehicles are parked on the wrong side of the street? lol I just love photo's like this that puts things in perspective. Great vantage point the castle. Mahaps that's why it was built there. Thanks for the view Patti. Now Rub a dub dub, I'm off to the Pub.

No need to ask what contribution you made to the local economy then. Good job you and Bob weren't there at the same time, you'd have drank the place dry.

I always wonder what life's like in little places like this. A longing to leave London I think. I like your aerial view and the structural elements you've got into it. It's amazing where you get to on your hikes!
