Beautiful picture Pat and it looks like a great walk. But probably too far of a walk for me. At my age, making it to the refrigerator is quite a work out.

I am familiar with and have hiked in the Garden of the Gods in far southern Illinois' Shawnee National Forest which is the foothills of the Missouri Ozarks. This does seem more daunting as John said but really beautiful.

This place has been on my wish list for a number of years now, along with the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Pueblo Bonito, etc., etc. I drove through that area when I got out of the Navy, returning north, but I did it at night and so saw nothing but silhouettes of hills and mountains. Kissing Camels? Directly below the small clouds on the far right.

Here's a great Vimeo video/graphic that illustrates how the Western Inland Seaway adjusted the shorelinesof states like Colorado. When you (any of you, not just Pat) watch it keep in mind that the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs is in a line between Denver and Pueblo, a little closer to Pueblo.
