Taking the picture from this angle and with this perspective just goes to emphasise the loneliness of this glorious lighthouse. This is a beautiful photograph.
You know, there is a place here in Ontario also called Tobermory...a lovely place which I will share sometime, though I have not known it to be this full of drama...love the long distance perspective, moodiness, and mix of textures here...great work and thanks for sharing.

A NOTE TO ALL MY FRIENDS: I WILL BE COMMENTING LESS ON PEOPLE IN MY “FRIENDS” LIST SO AS TO MAKE TIME FOR VIEWING ALL “NEW IMAGES” AND ENCOURAGING OTHER PEOPLE OF WHOM I MAY NOT KNOW OR ARE NEW TO THE SITE. I WILL STILL VIEW EVERY IMAGE OF MY FRIENDS AND STILL COMMENT ON SOME IF I CAN GIVE A GOOD CRITIQUE OR MENTION WHAT I LIKE OR FEEL IS REALLY WORKIN’ WELL IN THE IMAGE. AS FAR AS MY IMAGES IF YOU HAVE A COMMENT ON HOW I CAN IMPROVE AN IMAGE I REALLY WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THAT SO AS TO LEARN AND BETTER MYSELF.
I agree with Cindy about the wide angle. What lens did you use Jen? I love the rocks in the foreground and the wall leading to the lighthouse. Looks like a very nostalgic place to take a stroll. Great post and the sky is so wonderful.
I was just walking through your gallery to look at the other shot of this lighthouse and I began to notice that ever since the UK get together, you've added a new dimension to your photography skills, and a very attractive one at that. This could have been painted by a skilled artist, and I guess it actually was...you!!
We don’t make art to show someone what something looks like. All this requires is eyes (or a lens). Art is supposed to have meaning, emotion, power, or magic. Alan & Mario "FourThirds"
Oh mercy, this is one of your best. What beautiful color and perspective. Everything sharp from front to back. I would guess a super wide angle lens on your 5D? What a keeper.

What a beauty Jen, all lines lead to the lighthouse and I love the bright greens of the mosses too. Looking at it you feel like you race in towards the lighthouse then come to an abrupt stop - it really funnels your vision in. You truly have a great eye!
Oh oh.. what an image, and that sky ! it must have been a great time you where having here, wouldn"t mind a walk myself here as well ! thanks for this beauty of a posting !
