Naples, Florida, USA. In late January, the day we arrived in Naples a day of rain showers dampened attempts at touring. However, as the rain stopped late in the afternoon, it bode well for a beautiful sunset sky. So, my wife and I went to the Naples Pier, where these clouds, covering the entire sky, led me to think that it would be a great sunset for photography. As the sun made its descent to the horizon, a breeze aided the clouds to continue on their way southeastward leaving a clear sky; when the sun reached the horizon, only a few distant horizon-level would remain. Seeing the developing disappointing sunset, I shot this before the clouds fully cleared the sun's path. (16mm, 1/60, f/18, ISO 125, AP, ND filter)

Cotton wool clouds over a flat calm sea and the sun peeping out from behind the edge of the clouds. A wonderful shot Thad.

You could almost flip this one upside down, Thad. The sky looks just like the sand, albeit with much larger people walking through up there. Must have been my son. He's got boats on the end of his legs.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
