Sedona, Arizona, USA. Courthouse Rock, a massive butte, like so many of the rock formations in Sedona looks significantly different from varied angles. 1,200 feet high, the summit is 5,454 feet above sea level. Sedona is in the Coconino National Forest, which encompasses a large part of Arizona. As a result, while the region is a desert, there are many trees and scrub in a natural state. The weather is magnificent. Enjoy!

Jeeze, I love Sedona. Heading out to Cathedral Rock or taking the Schnebly Hill hike are always a joy. Thanks for posting this.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

You don't post often Thad, but it is always a "stunner," when you do. I would love to go there and photograph those natural monuments.

A very striking geologic formation, Thad, with outstanding framing between the tree on the left and that larger, solid cloud on the right. Its height and dominance of the landscape brings Devils Tower in Wyoming to mind, making me wonder if the slope below and to the left is soil that has not yet eroded away or if it's debris that has eroded already, off the massif... or both. A perfect wallpaper for anyone who loves landscapes.
