Teacher? Suffragette? Confident woman? Possibly. Likely. Obviously. The first suffragette national convention was held in 1850 and it took seventy years from that point for women to win the right to vote. "Gertrude(?)" Faith appears to me to be a vey confident woman--confident in her abilities and beliefs--supported by the way she is sitting on the arm of this couch. Sort of a "Come on; let's get down to business." attitude. While I think she could have used a little more color in her face, the rest of the plate is just right.

Well done again and I love the lighting, and how it shows off the detail of that very old chair. She does have a confident look about her.

Rob - Your work on these old images continues to be phenomenal. As Nik states, she appears to be a confident woman. I am intrigued by the ribbon draped on her belt with a metal decorative piece attached - symbolic of some activity in which she was involved.

Rob, 'Nik' may be right. Judging the original B&W version, lady G. Faith Stock could be a strick school teacher in her time. Think you wouldn't take jokes with her, ☺ .
Your perfectly done colorization has brought some doubts to me however. The strick appearance has gone now and was replaced by a more friendly one. The credits for that go to you, my friend.

Looks like the Stock she has Faith in, is late for the portrait Rob.
It is cool that you can choose whatever color you want and make it look so real. Another masterpiece.
