Apop. Photofiltre. My second entry to the contest. It looks like leaves waltzing in an Autumn breeze to me. I applied a filter to take on the look of a canvas painting, that you can probably see better in full view. Sure hope you enjoy, and your views and comments are always appreciated :) Lori

Excellent and seasonal piece of work Lori. It is very pleasing to the eye. The seasonal colours are warm - just right for the time of year.

Well ... I think ... think it's all been said above ... graceful, elegant, delicate, wonderfully warm colors ... very nice.

And at first glance in thumbnail (all the more reason for us to take a closer look, btw, when viewing images), I wasn't completely sure of the background here. But when viewed full-size ... and again, echoing the sentiments above ... the texture that emerges is a great compliment to your image.

I don't know if you have already done this ... but, I would suggest exploring this one even further.

The hint of black that shows has me thinking of the possibilities of trying some additional gradients. And hey, while you are at that ... move the transforms around a bit. I am astounded at how such seemingly simple changes, can at times, produce other great looking and quite individual images.

Yeah ... nice work and thanks for sharing your efforts on this one. Best of luck to you. :o)

Now THIS I like, and yes, because its like a delicately soft canvas painting, which of course I would love, since I do that kind of thing...I love the colours....and the wonderful whimsical feeling of freeness. It's like music in the air...just beautiful!..Verena

I’m really impressed by this image and I’m not a fractal fancier. It’s got beautiful colours and tones, a very stylish design. But I think what lifts it above the ordinary is the texture. That texture makes me feel I could reach out and touch it. On top of all that it seems to glow. That is quite an extraordinary image. Unfortunately these qualities are not apparent from the thumbnail. It’s only when you view it at full screen that the beauty is apparent. Needless to say it’s going to a new home in my favourites.

Very nice. Really captures the essence of Autumn. I can almost hear the leaves rustling. Unlike others, I'm not a big fan of the faux-canvas texture as it draws too much attention to itself but that just MHO. Still, a terrific design. Oh yea, the composition is very dynamic which fits the subject matter well.

Hi Lori. I saw your image during the contest, but I didn't want to comment on it until all the judging was done (I was a judge.)

Everything in this photo seems to be symmetrical. The little "leaves"are exquisitely delicate, and the textured background has the right color and texture to accuntuate your theme. Lovely job. This piece really has a zen quality about it that I love.

These swirls are delicate, like a Japanese painting. The colors are a perfect fit and compliment.I like the slight hint of the textured background. This image could have been set against any background and been a stand out.Beautiful!.

Having spent several months in Japan in the early 70's, and sampling the local culture, this one reminds me of minimalist Japanese paintings done on silk. Sweeping shapes of mountains or ocean waves are often highlighted by small floral images. Very simple and elegant - typically Japanese to say volumes with very little - and that is what you have accomplished here. Elegance. No wonder it received an honorable mention in that contest.
