After leaving Eastern North Dakota, we stopped at the Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Due to rain and flooding, we could only see part of the park. We passed a large group[ of bison who blocked our path on the way to expore the park. When we returned, we stopped at the visitors center. The bison came to the center and proceeded to encircle it and lie down all over the area preventing us leaving. After an hour we decided to slowly leave and they blocked our path. You can't move or rush bison. We had to wait until there was a gap then slowly leave.

Think it was wise not to neglect the stop sign, Ted, 😁 !
A very interesting and mighty 'show' however. By this image you were rewarded by your patience.

Not the usual procession one would see in traffic...an interesting and fortunate photo op. I saw much the same the other day - only with Turkeys...I've never seen so many at one time crossing the road...looked to be 30+ but too dark to take a pic....

I estimate that I have been to this very spot at least a couple dozen times over the years, and have seen a similar buffalo jam about half of them. Not sure what it is that draws them here, however, but the same thing happens occasionally at the I-94 overlook at the park^s Painted Canyon. I have tried to capture it myself but, for one reason or another, was nowhere near as successful as you. This capture rocks, Ted!
