This millpond has gone from a worn-down building ravaged by a hurricane to now providing a walking trail system around the pond and educational experiences for those wanting to see how a mill actually works. My cousin knew the operator and he took us on a tour of all three floors. The whole process was a lot more detailed than I expected.

I love the old mills, and the natural framing really enhances the image. We actually have one about an hour from here that still produces. tigs=^..^=

Ted, it must have been a very interesting tour. I suppose to know where I'm talking about, because I had many tours in Dutch traditional windmills, and every time I was amazed about the inventiveness in the time that these mills were built.
Think you had a comparable/similar experience. Thanks for this very fine capture.

Oh yeah, these are a great concentration of industrial history, and you got lucky, Ted. My wife and I discovered one in central rural Minnesota, and while it was free and open and loaded with machinery and long, wide belts, there was no indication of a tour or even anyone working there at all. Odd, but a cool place, nonetheless. A nice shot, Ted, with the upstream view showing the stream looking like an infinity pool.

Very nice! I especially like your use of the trees to frame the mill.
