For my B&W entry I am using a photo I took at the Bentonville battle reenactment. The whole day was spent seeing reenactors doing everything they would have done in the 1860s. The battle impressed me more than any event I have ever attended. All I have seen and read was shown in this event. There was even more than I had never thought about. Any photo I took that day if seen in B&W looked like history books.

If there was ever a photographic subject meant for black & white, Ted, this is it. I think you just took the lead. ;o) If you want to visit the history of the Civil War as though you were actually in it, living alongside some of those who fought it, I cannot recommend enough the 6 Civil War novels by Jeff Shaara, and one by his father, Michael, that started Jeff on his surprising opus of that war. For best results, read them in their chronological and campaign order (and this advice goes for anyone wanting to learn more about the subject).

Ted, this is an excellent entry for the current contest.
If the man in the bottom row, right hadn't had such a grin on his face, one might think it wasn't a reenactment but reality.
I wish you the Best of Luck with it!

If you think you can't accept something, try to change it. But if this doesn't work, don't be frustrated, but give it later another try. The one who perseveres wins! Please CLICK HERE to see my journal! Feel free to save my images or to add them to your favorites.
