This fella paid a visit this morning while it was snowing. I know alot of you don't care for framing but after lots of attempts without, this turned out the best.

Took this one with the Canon ef 70-300mm IS USM lens.

Thanks in advance for your comments, I do appreciate it.

He is really studying the seed selection. You must be very generous to the birds for you seem to get a nice variety. Great capture and focus.

A fine closeup shot of the Downy Woodpecker Sandi. The frames O.K. maybe a bit smaller would be less distracting.

I wish these birds would visit my feeder, at least they'd add some colour to the garden at this time of year. Great shot.

Woodpeckers are fun to watch & quick flyers too. Glad he hung out at the bird feeder for you, Sandi, to capture this one. Fantastic detail & the framing is perfect.

Maybe you should put some velcro on the feeder, poor little feller looks scared to death and holding on for dear life. Frame looks good and the capture is precious.

Nice post Tigz.

If a woodpecker falls backwards, can it turn around in midair and fly, or will it hit the ground? Hmmm. I guess it would depend how high up it was to begin with. Anyway...great shot, Sandi. Perfect clarity and comp. Very nice.

That's an interesting pose in which you caught him. He looks cute hanging on like that. There are lots of us who do like frames too, Sandi. lol I think it depends on the image too. I mean when you go to a museum, most of the images are framed and I think the frames are chosen to compliment the images.

Very cute capture Sandi and nice presentation! I might have been tempted to crop some from the right and bottom placing the bird more to the right, but great shot anyway - I have a problem getting birds in focus - they are too fast for me! lol!
