My mom has joined dad once again. She passed away last night at 11:40pm after dealing with congestive heart failure a month ago, and then was in the nursing home for rehab.
She was in good care, but illness is rampant in a nursing home, and she ended up contacting pneumonia.
I'm just getting over that nasty flu (I had a flu shot) but this time it did not work for me.
So I had not been in to see her, but was in contact with the home daily, and would talk to mom as well.
I was able to talk to her Friday afternoon, and that night, the home called and said she was declining, and was admitted back to the hospital.
She is now with my dad, and Harry, may she rest in peace, she has had a rough past 3 years.
This was dad's second marriage, and he sure picked a wonderful lady, she was not my step mom, she was my mother.tigs =^..^=

This was a few months after I was born. I'm so sorry once again Sandi. But you're right and they are now together again and forever. Don't worry...some day you'll see them too. Just not soon! My love goes out to you my dear friend.

I wasn't on Caedes much the last week--under the weather--so I missed this one when you first submitted it, but I want to add my sincere condolences to this long list of your friends. We care for your feelings and share in your grief, all surely knowing the pain of the loss of a loved one. My adopted mom died 5 years ago and I miss her all the time, but I know she's in a good place and reunited with her husband. I'm not at all Islamic but I know that the Koran speaks of death as that point when "all things are made clear." Having all your questions finally answered would have to be a silver lining, I'm guessing. Take care, Sandi, and, as Phil (gonedigital) says, be nice to yourself. Do something for yourself that you know your mom would have done for you to cheer you up. It'll warm your heart thinking of her in that way.

Once again, I'm so sorry, SAS...I too lost my mother about 16 years ago and still miss her...it sounds like your mother was a wonderful person...may you find comfort in all the good memories, joy in the hope you will meet again one day, and support in all the family and friends both here and elsewhere who share in your loss and care about you...it's time to take care of yourself now, Sandi...a soft and sweet tribute to your Mom and Dad.
