This was taken with my cell phone while I was on vacation in South Haven. It was extremely windy, and the sky, and the wave action was awesome to see. It drew people to the beach to witness this awesome sight.

I appreciate your comments, thank you.

I wish I was a Glow Worm, a Glow Worm's never glum, 'cause how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?

Excellent use of the little light Sandi - wonderful skies and I can see a bird flew into your shot on the far right.

Oh how beautiful - like the way the water has been captured moving in different directions

Terrific sunset composition, Sandi!
Taking into account that it was taken with a cell phone and in very windy and difficult lighting conditions, the result is amazing, my friend!

In 2001 I visited Lake Michigan via the Upper Peninsula and so I never saw it under Lake Effect and its prevailing winds. The drama here, in the sky and waves, is enhanced by the contrast between every element on the move and the solidity of the pier and lighthouse. I am amazed by the quality of this shot, taken by a cell phone. The small amount of beach, though, felt like it was competing with the rest of the photo, so I pulled a copy and cropped off the beach. Not only does it create a shape more amenable to the ratio of a monitor but pumps up the strength of the natural elements, the sky and water. Just a thought.
