When I take the time to look closely at this little daisy and consider what it is about a single flower that can contain this myriad of petals, that they all curl into tubes, gradually opening at the bottom, turning yellow at the top to mimic the yellow knobs on the head of the flower... and that there are most likely a bunch on this single plant... that there are more plants in the vicinity... that some are red, some are pink, some are rust, some are fuchsia... there are fields of them... that this is only one of hundreds of thousands of flowers on earth... and almost 9 million species of plants and animals and insects and others on the earth...

How did we come to be so lucky to have this diversity at our hands, to see them, feel them, smell, hear, love, fear? It truly makes one wonder, even those who do not believe.

And with this craft of ours we can capture part of their essence and save them to enjoy and absorb, over and over again.

Sorry. Drifted off there for a moment.

It's a lovely foof, Trix. Lovely.

Has the appearance of a pompom dahlia instead of Bellis perennis, aka English Daisy, Kathy.
Think however that the European species of an English Daisy differs from what in the USA is called 'English Daisy'.
Anyhow a very fine and well lighted photograph! Thanks!

Edit: Kathy has provided me with this link, making the different species clear to me.Thanks!

My thanks to all who leave comments for my work and to those of you who like one enough to make it a favourite. To touch just one person that way makes each image worthwhile. . . . . . . . . .. . . . "The question is not what you look at, but what you see" ~ Marcel Proust
