The bee (centre top) was scared witless as a strange woman clutching a camera crawled through the strawflowers in my local Public Gardens yesterday. . . .Strawflowers (Helichrysum bracteatum), also known as Paper Daisies or Imortelle are native to Australia. . . .Panasonic DMC-FZ7 . . Comments very welcome and always appreciated.

I didn't know they were native to Australia. They are one of my favorite flowers. I like them because you can keep them long after they are picked and put them on display all winter long. This is such a wonderful perspective on this large display of them and the fountain in the background is really a nice touch.

I didn't know they were native to Australia either! I don't think I've ever seen so many together, it's such a jumble of colour. Good for you for crawling through the undergrowth!
