He was a tiny blue puff ball when he fell out of his nest. I raised him on baby food and baby wieners. He would fly off and stay away for longer periods of time until he left and did not return. I choose to believe he is thriving with a family of his own :)

You are quite the Mother Hen, Vanda. :)
I think I saw him last week talking to a Cardinal.
Cool shot.

I hope so. It must be painful for you without him. But you have a great memory, this is wonderful photo.

I am sure he is doing the normal things for him to do now. I did the same thing with some cottontail bunnies once. :o)

How sweet! I can imagine that you would have become attached to him. I don't think I've ever seen a baby blue jay before. What a great assignment you were given to help him thrive.

Vanda, what a great experience that had to be, I have never seen a baby blue jay. I love your story, and would agree that he is striving out there because of your commitment to help him. A big pat on the back my friend. Tigs♥ =^..^=

He has probably flown back to Toronto to be with all the other Blue Jays. LOL. Cute shot, Vanda. You are a hero to all bird lovers!

Nice to meet Piccolo. How good of you to take in an orphan. A nice capture of your little blue friend.

My sister and you are kindred spirits; she rescues birds, squirrels, dogs, and horses (hmmmm... those are progressive in size... do you suppose she's going to save a whale next? Good luck her finding one in North Dakota!). This is a delightful capture, Vanda and, despite the fact that it is not a large image (at 557 x 482), it came out surprisingly well, sharp and not burnt at all. We have a lot of blue jays here who love our pine trees and peanuts in the shell. They're pretty tough little birds and can stand up to just about anything that flies, so my guess is that he's doing just fine in the next town over, financially solvent with a flourishing messenger and loud yelling service, happily married with 24 kids and 3 on the way, a new nest with a wrap-around porch, and goes to church regularly (I'm thinking the belfry)... and he has you to thank for all that. How do I know this? I read his blog.

Merry Christmas nice lady, to you and yours.
