Hope you have dressed really warm this morning with good hiking boots, warm gloves, toque & of course ski coat, it is -20C/-4F. Hope I'm not walking too fast, just let me know. As we walk you will see the ice crystals floating in the air. After the walk we will head back to the house and have some hot coffee or hot chocolate, how does that sound?

Captured this image this morning on a frosty and crisp morning walk with my dear friend & walking buddy. We are on Whitefish Island down at the locks here in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Just loved the way the frost and ice crystals in the air have coated the branches of the trees making them look shimmery.

Thank you for your time and comments most welcomed.

Have a Lovely Day, ♥ Skates

Nicely done Pat, cold temps, but a lovely sky to show it all off.

You're so lucky! The two weeks of winter was over a couple weeks ago. It was nice having highs in the 40's and 50's but now temps are all ready in the 80's! Great capture Pat! I hope you're enjoying the Olympics

The snow looks so creamy you could eat it. Like you layered some whipped cream on this dreamy cake landscape. The capture of the bridge really enhances things. Good Winter scene Pat.

Pat, I have found staying indoors is a good option on cold days. lol. But, if you do go out, you might want it to be on a beautiful day like the one you found here. BTW, did your fingers freeze a bit while you took this picture? It does not take long to feel the cold when it is -20 degrees.

Hot chocolate sounds good Skates. I love the view of the bridge in the background.

It's a beautiful scene Pat but truly I've seen enough snow now down here to last a while - our scenes are not nearly as pretty as this.

Nicely done Pat - love the composition - the sky is amazing - I'll choose to stay in rather than go for a walk - kicking back watching the winter olympics - Great Capture!!!!!!!!

It depends on the humidity, Pat. In low humidity these temperatures don't feel quite as cold. Also, by mid-February, we polar bears have been in sub-zero temps for some time now, and I don't know about you but -4 ain't bad. However, we can take heart in that that is one cool bridge, neater than mine (I want to go see it someday), and that hoar frost is a nice counter focal element to the bridge.

The reason why the sun sets in the evening is because it wants to see the sunrise in the morning. I rise in the morning because I want to see them both. RvdB
