I feed all the wild-life in my yard....and lately...we have been finding bits and pieces { ugh!} of citrus rats left partially eaten in the yard. Today...I found the culprit...perched and waiting for Minnie....and friends. pardon the blurry effect----understand now that this was taken thru WINDOW of my house....so it's not perfection...and if you don't like it on left side of screen...YOU can horizontally flip it over to suit your needs..../ just sharing this Cooper's Hawk with those who may be interested...

Very well done through the window Terri and looks ready to pounce or whatever the birds do to get their lunch ;) Very nice composition and color with a subtle background. Thanks for sharing him.

This is the better of the two. The hawk is posing for you in this one. Your luck with raptors is amazing, Terri. Whether caught in the rain or looking for dinner, you always seem to be there to capture them. This is an excellent shot. Thank you for sharing it.

well the bird looks in perfect focus to me Terri and the blurriness makes a really good background! How amazing to see a magnificent bird like that sitting in your own garden. what a beauty he is!! lovely capture! Patti

What's wrong with this? The camera blurs the background in many closeups which is more desirable for DOF.The focal point is right on the bird where you want it. I think this is great. Excellent shot...now quit whining.

like the other one .... s that curve! (ps adjustments)

but also like the other this is GREAT
the compo is fab
both are super and im hard pressed to say which i prefer
but i think the other edges out for me cos of the quiet contemplative impression i get
or is it this one with the steely beedy eyes which have had their attention brought on its next prey

arrrrgh i cant decide
i want them both!

Oh my - these birds of prey are gorgeous, Terri. Through a window or not, this is a lovely image of a powerful bird. I have one that returns every November and "cleans" up the property, too. Thanks for sharing this and the other, too. They're both very well done!

The only blur I see looks like a purposeful effect… and looks quite nice tyvm. Shooting it through the window introduced some neat refractions in the bkgd while the cooper hawk is still in sharp detail 8•)
