Some may remember back in April, my "graveyard" series...when I went to try and capture Bald Eagle pics...but it was already time to migrate...so I vowed that when they returned in October..I'd get some shots. I have approx 268 today...and though some are sharper and better than this one, I am selecting this one to show because of the Eagle looking heaven-ward. I had to stand for a few hours beside the grave of a little girl...and most of the time my eyes were having a very hard time focusing. Hope sharing this gives a few smiles.

This is wonderful! I'm so glad you put this one up because I really like the way the eagle is looking higher in the heavens. The blue sky and the twisted branches add contrast as well.

Just terrifically beautiful, Terri. This pose is remarkable and the shot is quite clear. It is such a wonderful sight to look at. I love his little cocked head and his eye is so clear. He's in a great position, composition wise as well. Excellent post!

An excellent shot Terri ... the eagles have moved inland from the Mississippi River where I live also, so I will be on eagle watch all winter long ... they love a couple of my trees in my backyard & actually got a few pic's the other day. I love how this eagle is looking up towards the sky. They definitely are the most magestic bird around. Bravo!!!!!

I don't know what the other 267 look like but I gotta tell ya ... you picked a lulu to post Terri. Your patience paid off big-time. The clarity is fine but the pose is what makes this a winner. Going in my favorites.

How fortunate you are Terri to be able to see and capture an image of such a magnificent bird...( our natiional symbol). And to think, the bald eagle was nearly extinct in 1960 and placed on and protected under our Endangered Species Act. Because of such action, it is currently no longer on that list and has been downgraded from endangered to threatened. Thank you for this beautiful image and sharing this with us.

The composition here is exquisite as forms are repeated and intertwined (arch of eagle's back and tree limbs, for example).though not perfectly focused, you are "forgiven" as subject, patience and overall photo is wonderful.Congratulations!!
