. . . I have a long history!!Magnolia is an ancient genus. Having evolved before bees appeared, the flowers developed to encourage pollination by beetles. As a result, the carpels of Magnolia flowers are tough, to avoid damage by eating and crawling beetles. Fossilised specimens of M. acuminata have been found dating to 20 million years ago, and of plants identifiably belonging to the Magnoliaceae dating back to 95 million years ago. . .Panasonic DMC-FZ7.. Thank you for taking a look.Any comments are most welcome and always appreciated.

It's easy to see that you truly enjoy working with flowers. I think you need to include you thumb (on purpose) in one of your photos. I'm betting it's a beautiful shade of green.

Interesting info about the tree. I take too much for granted and then I learn by coming here, things I never knew. Beauty of a blossom too with its duo colors of pink. Lovely presentation as well.

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Lyn, think you've did a lot of research before you could tell us this story. Very interesting. Your image is perfect (again)! Thanks for your putting your effort in both the image and story (I assume both were time consuming!). Regards, Cornelius

very beautiful Lyn! You have the most gorgeous flowers there but I suspect that the photographer is the one that makes each flower look even more beautiful, then takes that photograph and expertly frames it in PSP! :)
