This is the second in the series of two. I know I can't go by the scores in the voting booth, but, again, I'd like my friends' input on which one of the two is the better. I've provided a link HERE..thanks!!

Well, this one is definitely more artistic with the star filter and the clarity. I like the distance the other one provides, but you can't see the knife as clearly, so I'm going to go with this one as the better of the two. Is this taken with a macro setting or with a macro lens, PJ?

You will be led to the knowledge of the internal things which are invisible to you, by the external things which you see before you. . . . Even so then, we can represent to ourselves in thought the Author of all that is, by contemplating and admiring the (visible) things which He has made, and ever brings into being. - Hermes

Wow! Say Macro with a kick. This is, in my opinion, the best of the two. Your star filter really adds the "Bling" to make it Pop. Into my Fav's also.. Great shot, PJ.

First... Hi PJ! Long time since I have been active here. :o)
Now for my comments...
I have a definite preference for this shot... the lighting, the colour, the clarity. But I do prefer the widescreen format of the other pic. One thing I do know... for full impact one MUST view them in a large format.

- get rid of the knife
- get rid of the cadaver ( I advice to eat it )

I think I'd prefer the quick death like this. It beats dying on the vine like a grape. Then you become a raisan. Oh well. This is my favorite for star and knife reasons. It does look like a droplet of blood on the counter. May be a day or two before I desire one of these. Very nice PJ. You're so creative and good.

PJ, I prefer this image to that of number one, but the one thing I find slightly off putting is the star. I think the lighting is better in this image and one can clearly see that the slayer of the pomegranate is a kitchen knife. In image one the knife handle is too dark to see exactly what it is.

There really are people called 'food stylists' who are paid to take photos of food and make it appetising aren't there. This new departure of yours is tantalising - not least because the DOF, focus and angle on both of these make my mouth water imagining the sharpness of the juice. My vote goes for this one - just because it's a bit closer in and I love that star of light. Seriously great work PJ, who was it who said that they don't go looking for unusual things to photograph, they look for ways to make the everyday unusual? 10/10 from me.
